Slew ring face machining
When replacing a slew ring, a check must be made to ensure the bolting faces on the fabricated structure are in accordance with the manufacturers co-planer tolerance.
For example, an excavator at a waste handling plant loading a fixed hopper may show a significant sag in the face in line with the position where the machine has operated the most. If a new or reconditioned ring were fitted to this machine a massive internal stress would be put into the ring which would greatly reduce its operating life. Our fully portable slew ring facing machine can come to your site and re-machine the bolting faces true and flat to each other, bringing them back to new. The range of diamaters we can machine are 450mm to 2200mm. We can machine both downhand and overhead faces, provide a slew ring changing service and also supply new or re-conditioned slew rings, all at your site or at our works.
