In-situ Keyway cutting/refurbishment
Keyways or key seats in shafts can be machined on site with our fully portable machine.
Key widths from 3mm to 32mm (or imperial equivalents) can be machined in shafts fron 25mm to 400mm diamater. Any length of key can be machined in a shaft and only 50mm of shaft is needed for the machine to mount on. Also worn and fretted keyways can be refurbished at your site, this greatly reduces downtime, stripdown time and transport costs. Worn keyways can have the worn faces built up using a TIG welding process then machined back to their original size from new. The TIG welding process ensures no excessive heat is put into the shaft ensuring zero distortion and no damage to oil seals, bearings, O rings, Gaskets ets which may be adjacent.
